Concert Review: Save Ferris Skanks the Roof Off 89th Street
Oklahoma City, 05/18/2025
Save Ferris brought a full-blown ska revival to 89th Street, and not a single soul left without a smile—or a mild case of whiplash. With opening acts Fair Weather Enemies, The Big News, and Keep Flying, the night felt like a joyful collision between a brass section and a runaway freight train.
Each band brought enough energy to power a small city, and by the time Save Ferris hit the stage, the crowd was already dancing like their lives depended on it. Monique Powell commanded the room with charisma, glitter, and the power of a thousand skankers.
It was loud, it was sweaty, and it was everything live ska should be: slightly chaotic and completely unforgettable.
Final thoughts: If ska is dead, nobody told Oklahoma City.
